Financial difficulties can make it even harder for women experiencing or leaving domestic abuse to rebuild their lives. Financial control, restricted access to money, debt, housing costs, childcare expenses and the loss of financial stability can create significant barriers to seeking safety and independence.
At Nu Me Foundation, we recognise that having a job or earning a salary does not always mean having financial security. Women may face unexpected expenses when leaving an abusive situation, from securing accommodation and replacing essential belongings to covering everyday living costs.
We aim to help women navigate the support available by connecting them with relevant organisations and services that can provide financial guidance, benefits advice, debt support and information about available assistance. Depending on individual circumstances, this may include signposting to specialist domestic abuse services, welfare advice providers, local authorities and organisations offering financial support.
We also recognise the importance of rebuilding financial confidence and independence. Access to reliable information and appropriate professional guidance can help women understand their options and make informed decisions about their next steps.
Our approach is compassionate, respectful and focused on individual needs. While Nu Me Foundation is not a financial advice service, we aim to help women identify relevant support and resources that may assist them during this challenging period.
Our aim is to help reduce financial barriers, improve access to trusted support and empower women to work towards a safer, more stable and independent future.
