Children & Family Support

How We Work

Domestic abuse can affect every part of family life, creating challenges for both women and their children. Concerns about children’s safety, emotional wellbeing, schooling, childcare and family stability can make an already difficult situation even more overwhelming.
At Nu Me Foundation, we recognise that supporting a woman also means understanding the wider needs of her family. We believe every woman deserves access to appropriate support that considers her circumstances, responsibilities and the wellbeing of her children.
We aim to connect women with trusted specialist organisations and services that can offer guidance on children’s emotional wellbeing, family support, childcare, housing and other relevant needs. Depending on individual circumstances, this may include signposting to domestic abuse specialists, family support services, local authorities and organisations experienced in supporting children affected by domestic abuse.
We also recognise the importance of practical essentials for families. Items such as children’s clothing, bedding and household necessities may help ease some of the pressures women face when rebuilding a safe and stable home, subject to availability.
Our approach is compassionate, respectful and centred on the individual needs of each woman and her family. We understand that every family’s circumstances are different, and we aim to help women find appropriate support without judgement.
Our aim is to help women and their families access trusted guidance, strengthen their support networks and work towards a safer, more stable future.
Concerned about immediate safety? Call 999 if you or your children are in immediate danger. Nu Me Foundation is not an emergency service.
