Emotional Support & Counselling

How We Work

Experiencing or leaving domestic abuse can have a profound emotional impact. Feelings of fear, anxiety, isolation, confusion and loss of confidence can make it difficult to process what has happened and feel hopeful about the future. Every woman’s experience is different, and healing takes time.
At Nu Me Foundation, we recognise that emotional wellbeing is an important part of rebuilding life after domestic abuse. Every woman deserves to feel heard, respected and supported, without fear of judgement or pressure to share more than she feels comfortable with.
We aim to connect women with trusted specialist organisations, counselling services and emotional wellbeing professionals who can provide appropriate support based on their individual circumstances. This may include access to domestic abuse-informed counselling, emotional support services, wellbeing resources and organisations that understand the challenges survivors can face.
Through our developing Nu Me Experience programme, we also hope to create opportunities for women to reconnect with themselves, build confidence and develop supportive connections with others in a welcoming environment.
We understand that recovery is not always straightforward. Our approach is compassionate, sensitive and respectful of each woman’s personal journey, choices and pace.
Our aim is to help women access appropriate emotional support, rebuild self-belief and move towards a future where they feel safer, stronger and more confident.
You do not have to navigate everything alone. Nu Me Foundation can help you find relevant support and trusted services. We are not an emergency or counselling service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
